The Successful Gal’s Boston Creme Cake

My Son loves Boston Creme Donuts, so I decided to make him a cake. I looked on the Internet to see what recipes where available and most of them seemed quite involved and all from scratch.

Some food I love from scratch but other food I like it quick and simple to make. So I made it as simple as I could! So here it is, Mother tested kid approved!

The Successful Gals Boston Creme Cake


1 package of Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix
1 package of Duncan Hines Milk Chocolate Frosting
2 packages Jell-O French Vanilla instant pudding & pie filling
4 cups of Milk

1- Make Duncan Hines Yellow cake mix following the directions on the package. Pour the batter evenly into 2 round cake pans. I used 8″ pie pans. Once the cake is done cool completely.

2- Put both packages of pudding mix in a bowl and add 4 cups of milk (these are the directions on the package) stir with whisk for 2 minutes.

3- Invert one of the cakes on a plate and spread the pudding on top of the cake, you will have a lot but we want it to run down the sides so don’t worry.

4- Now place the 2nd cake on top of the pudding and lightly push down.

5- Frost the top and sides of the top layers. Put in the refrigerator to set (about 1 hour) until ready to eat! Enjoy!!!
